Brief Description Of Activity

Conduct Internship Program

Cumulus Danbury offers internship opportunities to local college and high school students in its programming and promotions departments. The internships are typically scheduled on a semester basis.  Our Marketing and Promotions Director coordinates our internship program and supervises the interns’ progress.

During this reporting period, twenty-seven (27) interns participated in this program.  These interns assist the Promotions and Programming Departments with a variety of tasks including public relations, non-traditional revenue events and on-site station broadcasts, database marketing.

Participate in Scholarship Program

During this reporting period, Cumulus Danbury  participated in the Connecticut Broadcasters Association Scholarship Program.  All stations in the employment unit broadcast announcements from March through May, 2011, soliciting scholarship applicants.  Scholarship applications were also made available at the stations to interested candidates.  Further, the association dues paid by the employment unit helped fund the scholarship program.

Host Job Fair

In March of 2011, this SEU hosted a Cumulus Media Job Fair at the Ethan Allen Hotel in Danbury, Connecticut.  Our SEU solicited local employers to participate in this event and promoted the Fair on its Stations.  The SEU also participated, providing attendees with information about career opportunities in broadcasting as well as job opportunities within the SEU.  SEU participants included the Market and Sales Managers.
